Gifted by a man of Stewart Island, descended from rangatira — whose whakapapa runs as deep as the water this shark once commanded. It is not a souvenir. It is not merchandise. It is a taonga, passed through hands that understood its weight before it ever reached yours.

The māngō ururoa — great white shark — has moved through these waters since before memory. Apex. Ancient. Unhurried. It does not chase. It does not perform. It simply is — and everything in the ocean knows it.

On April 1, 2007, māngō ururoa became absolutely protected in New Zealand waters. This tooth predates that moment. It comes from an era when hunters and the ocean met on different terms — when the sea gave, and people received with reverence, not entitlement.

A note on the print

This design is applied using flex print — a heat-transfer method that sits on the surface of the fabric. The colours are vivid and sharp. To keep it looking its best, wash inside out on a cool, gentle cycle and never tumble dry. With the right care, it will last.
